The United Way of Beaufort County is comprised of 35 non-profit member agencies and through annual tax-deductible contributions pumps nearly $1 million each year into the community. The number and nature of these groups’ contributions to society are registered on the Island, offering camaraderie and community involvement to all residents. Most major national organizations and business associations have Hilton Head Island chapters. Everything from Hilton Head Island Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club of Hilton Head, Zonta and Ducks Unlimited to the American Association of University Women, American Association of Retired Persons, The Bar Association, and Audubon Society.

In addition to accenting a well-rounded community these people have fun. They raise funds, host festivals and fairs, sponsor carnivals, plan bazaars, spook children at haunted houses, trim trees, dunk politicians, donate time and money and add immensely to Hilton Head’s quality of life.
