The surrounding waters of Hilton Head Island provide miles of protected waterways and easy access to open ocean for the simple pleasures of craft cruising and sailing. Boating on Hilton Head has become more popular with each passing year, and why not... The waters of Hilton Head are ideal for boating all year long. Many boaters who traveled down to the often crowded Florida marinas for the winter season have found a new home on Hilton Head.
Fishing is an immensely popular past-time on Hilton Head. The Atlantic and saltwater creeks and inlets are filled with spottail Bass, flounder, blue crab and shrimp. Farther out, fishing in the deep produces Spanish and king mackerel, tarpon, snapper, blue marlin and sailfish, among others.
